Description
MetaPREMIS is a single-file, fully client-side tool for authoring and validating PREMIS 3.0 premis.xml documents. Files are read locally in the browser and nothing is sent to any server, which makes it suitable for sensitive records, teaching and offline use.
Features:
- Validation against the official
premis-v3-0.xsdin the browser (libxml2 compiled to WebAssembly, via xmllint-wasm), plus semantic checks based on the PREMIS Data Dictionary 3.0. - Per-field help from the PREMIS Data Dictionary 3.0, in English (official Library of Congress text) and in an unofficial Portuguese translation.
- Library of Congress preservation controlled vocabularies (eventType, relationshipType/relationshipSubType, etc.) as guided dropdowns.
- Multiple inputs: an editing form, round-trip import of an existing PREMIS
premis.xml, and a "wide CSV" importer for whole documents. - In-browser technical metadata: file format identification with Siegfried (PRONOM) compiled to WebAssembly, and SHA-256/512 fixity, computed locally.
- An Archivematica-acceptance output profile that checks the conditions an Archivematica ingest requires while keeping the premis.xml complete for the AIP.
Served as static files (GitHub Pages).
