Description

METSReader is a single-file, fully client-side viewer for METS documents, in particular the METS.<uuid>.xml of an Archivematica AIP. The file is read in the browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

Rather than reading raw XML, METSReader resolves the references METS leaves open — linking each mets:file to its dmdSec/amdSec via DMDID/ADMID, and resolving each structMap fptr from FILEID to the real file path — and presents the package object by object: which files exist, the PREMIS events applied to each, the agents, the rights, and how the package is organised.

Note: this is a human-facing browser viewer, distinct from Artefactual's mets-reader-writer (metsrw) Python library, which is also listed in COPTR.

Served as static files (GitHub Pages).
