Exhibit lets you easily create web pages with advanced text search and filtering functionalities, with interactive maps, timelines, and other visualizations. Developed by MIT. Written in JavaScript, JSON.
This "data publishing tool" was created through MIT's Simile Project (http://www.simile-widgets.org/exhibit3/ExhibitPR.pdf). Cultural centers, libraries and institutions that handle large amounts of information can import data from spreadsheets into a web-based application (called Babel) that converts the text into to an html file that can be edited.
