Digital curators handling files that include private information can use this tool to prepare documents for ingest by removing sensitive data (social security numbers, DOB's, addresses etc.) from PDF files at the bit level. Appligent notes special features in Redax that allow for manual specification and selection of redacted content, FOIA exemption codes, workflow automation and batch redaction processing. Text, images, whole pages and multiple pages of documents can be securely removed as well as the document metadata (http://www.appligent.com/desktop-software/redax/).
