== Description ==
<!-- Describe the what the tool does, focusing on it's digital preservation value. Keep it factual. -->
The tool evaluates if a given TIFF matches against the rules defined in a configuration profile. The configuration profile is human readable and allows to validate TIFFs against rules like:
* no compression
* only 300dpi
* if tag X has Value Y then tag Z must exist

It is optimized for very high throughput, it is extremely robust and it is suitable for scripted use.

== User Experiences ==
<!-- Add hotlinks to user experiences with the tool (eg. blog posts). These should illustrate the effectiveness (or otherwise) of the tool. Use a bullet list. -->

See https://kulturreste.blogspot.com/search?q=checkit_tiff for blogposts about usage of checkit_tiff.

== Development Activity ==
<!-- Provide *evidence* of development activity of the tool. For example, RSS feeds for code issues or commits. -->
<!-- Add the OpenHub.com ID for the tool, if known. -->
